Chair of the British Wind Energy Association to Speak in Philadelphia
Chair of the British Wind Energy Association, and UK Chief Executive of Airtricity, Adam Bruce, will address the international business community in Philadelphia at the Holiday Luncheon of the British American Business Council (BABC) on Friday, December 7, 12 noon at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia.
Airtricity is a global renewable energy company developing and operating wind farms across Europe and North America. The company has 13 wind farms in operation throughout USA, Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland and Scotland resulting in 455MW. In addition, 11 wind farms totalling over 600MW are under construction with a global pipeline in excess of 10,000MW. The company has a supply business in Ireland with 35,000 customers. The company has almost 400 employees, a turnover of $230m and has been most recently valued at $1.6bn.
According to Mr. Bruce, the political, macro-economic and business case for renewable energy has continued to grow and develop over the past years. Concerns surrounding security of energy supply have increased and the debate with respect to the reality of climate change and increasing average Global temperatures has been effectively concluded. The result is an ever increasing awareness and acceptance of the need for clean, sustainable and dependable sources of energy – in short, for Renewable Energy.
Adam Bruce is a highly respected figure in the UK Public Policy sector. He joined Airtricity in 2006 from the UK law firm McGrigors, where he spent a decade working with government in London, Brussels and Edinburgh. Adam chaired the Scottish public affairs professional body for three years, served as a member of the Arbuthnott Commission and is a board member of the Westminster Forum, the London based policy networking group.
The British American Business Council (BABC), an affiliate of the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, will bring together members of the international business community to this unique transatlantic business luncheon.
