The British American Business Council (BABC) of Greater Philadelphia has elected Neil Boyden Tanner, Associate General Counsel - International, ARAMARK as its President. Tanner, who has served for the last two years as Secretary of the Board of the BABC, will replace outgoing President, Michael Swanick, Partner, PriceWaterhouseCoopers.  The new President and incoming board were inaugurated at the BABC evening reception by Her Majesty’s Consul General and Director-General of UK Trade & Investment, Sir Alan Collins KVCO CMG, at an evening reception at the Racquet Club of Philadelphia.

Tanner is Associate General Counsel – International and a member of the Executive Leadership Council.  A leading provider of a broad range of professional services including food, hospitality, facilities and uniform services, ARAMARK has approximately 240,000 employees serving 18 countries in North and South America, Europe and Asia.  Tanner is responsible for legal matters in all ARAMARK business outside the United States, including businesses, schools, universities, health care institutions, sports and entertainment facilities, and remote sites such as offshore drilling platforms and mining camps.  In addition to serving as BABC President, Tanner is currently the United States delegate to the Association Internationale des Jeunes Avocats (“AIJA” or the International Young Lawyers Association).  The Philadelphia Business Journal recently named him one of the “40 Under 40” in the business community and the Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly have previously named Tanner as one of “50 on the Fast Track” among lawyers under the age of 40.  He was also named a “Rising Star” in the annual Super Lawyers survey and was included in the premier edition of “Who’s Who of Emerging Leaders.”  In addition to his role at ARAMARK, Tanner is an adjunct professor at the Temple University School of Law where he teaches international law.

“I’m so pleased to have the opportunity to lead our region’s chapter of the largest transatlantic business network in the world.  The BABC provides valuable programming, business contacts, networking opportunities and business intelligence to the world’s top companies on both sides of the Atlantic and I look forward to continuing the Philadelphia chapter’s history as one of the most active and successful chapters in this worldwide organization.” said Tanner.

“I look forward very much to working with Neil, and our Board of Directors, members and staff, to continue to build the key role that BABC plays in driving transatlantic business”.” said Sheryl Rothberg, Executive Director of the British American Business Council.
