Aging is inevitable for all of us if we live long enough. We all envision being active and having uncompromised health. Baby boomers are approaching middle age and will soon be joining their parents as senior citizens. Many will remain healthy while others will develop health problems. These health problems can be related to age, lifestyle and genetics.
The degree of compromised health will determine the level of independence or dependency that an individual will have with performing their activities of daily living (ADL’s). Some individuals will need minimal assistance; others may require complete care. Maintaining as much independence as possible is what we all strive for. Enhancing one’s quality of life should never be compromised even when complete care is necessary. Every alternative should be exhausted before considering retiring to a nursing home.
AROUND THE CLOCK HOME HEALTH CARE was established nine years ago as an alternative to nursing homes for the senior and disabled populations. We provide complete home health care. Services range from assisting with ADL’s, meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, companionship as well as escort service. We also provide respite care which allows family members the opportunity to take a break and have time away from an ill or aging family member when they are the primary caregivers.
AROUND THE CLOCK HOME HEALTH CARE has grown from one employee to well over 100 employees and projects a 48% percent increase for 2007. Community-based, we service the Greater Philadelphia and surrounding counties. As a major employer in the area, we have a vested interest in the city of Philadelphia and more specifically the Germantown community.
Currently, AROUND THE CLOCK HOME HEALTH CARE is expanding. Demolition of the new site began July 2006. The new office complex will be located at 5317-23 Germantown Avenue with available office space for rent. Completion is scheduled for fall 2007.
