Family Business Award
In 1982, the Chamber created the most esteemed honor bestowed on small businesses in Greater Philadelphia: Excellence Awards Honoring the Region’s Small Businesses. These ten prestigious awards annually acknowledge the accomplishments of small businesses and the contributions they make to our regional economy.
Award winners are chosen based on their creativity, vitality, stability and relevance; their demonstrated commitment to the advancement of the business community; as well as their civic involvement, corporate responsibility and employee recognition efforts.
With the development of the Family First program in 2006, came a new Excellence Award category, sponsored by Firstrust: Family Business of the Year.
Family Business of the Year Award Criteria:
- Company must have 1 – 100 employees
- A family-owned company
- Significant contributions to both the community and industry
- Company story/history and plan for long-term business success and growth under family ownership are also important considerations.
